Cookies and storage

1. Device storage

Cookies and localStorage are device-side storage mechanisms subject to applicable electronic communications and privacy rules. Using storage strictly necessary to provide a service and remembering user-requested preferences is different from non-essential advertising tracking.

2. LapChecker browser storage

lapcheck-language-v03 — your preferred language, until cleared.

lapcheck-theme-v1 — your preferred display theme, until cleared.

lapcheck-favorites-v01 — saved laptop model identifiers, until cleared.

lapchecker-price-cache-v5 — public price observations with a 15-minute TTL; expired entries are removed on the next read.

lapcheck-privacy-notice-v3 — notice acknowledgement, renewed no later than 180 days.

3. Security services

The application uses static hosting and does not run Firebase App Check or reCAPTCHA. Loading the AdSense verification script connects to Google; pausing ad requests does not replace a CMP consent flow.

Third-party retailers set their own cookies when you leave LapChecker; their policies apply there.

4. Optional tools — currently disabled

This version does not load Google Analytics or affiliate advertising pixels. The Google AdSense verification script is loaded with ad requests paused. Acknowledging this notice does not grant advertising consent.

If optional technologies are introduced, the website will provide category controls, blocking before consent, rejection and withdrawal options, and updated processor/retention information.

5. Managing storage

Use Privacy settings in the footer to view this information or your browser settings to clear local site data. Clearing storage may reset your language, theme and favourites.

Blocking necessary storage or network access may prevent preferences or public price retrieval.
